4km Of LED Lights Used For Longleat Festival

More than four kilometres of LED lights have been used to help create the magic of this year’s Longleat Festival of Light, with 25,000 individual lights being used to help recreate famous excerpts from Beatrix Potter’s wonderful series of books.

This year’s event is intended to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the renowned children’s author’s birth, with figures of Jeremy Fisher, Squirrel Nutkin and more all handmade by a team from Zigong in China’s Sichuan province, the Gazette and Herald reports.

Giant porcelain elephants have also been created using thousands of Chinese cups, bowls, plates and spoons, while there’s also a 20m tall birthday cake on the lawn in front of the house to help celebrate 50 years of Longleat.

The festival itself will be on from November 11th until January 2nd so there’s plenty of time to go and see the animal installations. There’s also a Santa Express that will whisk you and your family off to a woodland grotto where you’ll find none other than Father Christmas himself sat there waiting for you.

And don’t forget that you can go on a winter safari while at the park, with animals like zebras, rhinos, wolves, monkeys, big cats and more all waiting to be discovered. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean that you can’t head out into the fresh air to see some truly spectacular sights, after all!
